BOOKS, MAGAZINES & AUDIO MEDIA
Throughout the year Mission Hills Branch Library accepts donations of used books, videos, audios and current magazines. Friends sell donations not selected for the library's collection.
MATCHING MATERIALS FUND
All money donated to the Mission Hills Branch Library's matching materials fund is matched dollar for dollar by the City of San Diego. Half of the match returns directly to the Mission Hills Branch Library. The other half goes into a fund that is distributed twice a year to branch libraries with the smallest materials budget. Contributions can be made over the phone with a Mastercard or Visa Card (6192365849 or 6192386615) or mailed to the Development Office, San Diego Public Library, 820 E St., San Diego, CA 92101. Any contribution may be directed to the Mission Hills Branch.
DESIGNATED GIFTS
At any time, individuals and groups are encouraged to consider funding collections of special interest. Mission Hills Branch Library has a wonderful collection of large print books and audio books purchased through the generosity of the Hillcrest/Mission Valley Lions Club. Mission Hills Garden Club's donation made possible the acquisition of many fine horticultural, landscaping, and gardening books. Also look for Seasonal Giving Trees at the Branch Library for opportunities to purchase titles particularly needed in our collection.
As you surf the web, there's a new way to support our Branch Library. Volunteer Tom Littell has set up a Wish List on Amazon.com where he is entering the names of bestsellers selected by our branch manager. These are books that are in high demand by our patrons. Simply go to www.Amazon.com, click on Wish List, enter Mission Hills Library, and review the selection. Or click on the Amazon logo here to go directly to the Mission Hills Library Wish List. Books purchased from the Wish List are shipped directly to the Branch Library for inclusion in the collection. Think in terms of, "One for me, one for my Branch Library!"
